Sylvia Bottomley is Home with the Lord

OBITUARY FOR SYLVIA IRENE BOTTOMLEY

Sylvia Irene Bottomley went home to Jesus on June 28th from home in Aliquippa, aged 73. After a 3-year battle with cancer, she is now completely healed and raised by the Lord to a new life.

Born in Cheltenham, England, the eldest child of the late Reginald and Gladys Morgan and sister to David Morgan and Diana Huyton, she came to the USA with her husband, the Rev. Philip Bottomley and family in 1984.

Trained as an RN midwife, she devoted her life to serving her Lord Jesus and His Church, and to caring for her husband and family. She was a member of Prince of Peace Anglican Church, Hopewell, PA. She loved reading, knitting and needlepoint.

Sylvia will be greatly missed by her husband of 50 years, daughter, Ruth (Don) Ash of Lynchburg, VA, son, Richard (Sharon) Bottomley of Manassas, VA and daughter, Gina (Wes) James of Leetsdale, PA; also by grandchildren: Ryan and Evan James, Ian, Emmet and Iris Bottomley; adult grandsons, Joseph and Ben Ash; and by many people in churches and parachurch organizations in Britain and the USA she served with her husband.

The service celebrating her life will be on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 11:00am at Prince of Peace Church, 1314 Gringo Rd., Aliquippa 15001, followed by internment in the Columbarium at the church. A luncheon will follow the service. Friends will be received that day from 5-7pm at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Prince of Peace Anglican Church at 1314 Gringo Rd., Aliquippa, PA 15001; or to CMJ-USA at P.O. Box 443 Ambridge, PA 15003 or online at: www.cmj-usa.org.
